The Central Indiana Police Foundation (CIPF) was awarded one of four Indianapolis Rotary Foundation Community Grants late in 2018. The money was designated to purchase items to make Trauma Medical Kits. These kits will be donated to Police Officers in the CIPF territory. Along with the kit, each officer will be trained on how to properly use the items in the kits to attend to those who have been injured and/or suffer gun shot wounds.
Monday, February 4th from 4:30-5:30, Rotarians and board members will come together to assemble the kits. The EMT Trainer will share the importance of these kits and share a story about a life that was saved because and officer had the kit.

Indianapolis Rotary Foundation Announces Community Grant Recipients $70,000 in funding distributed to four Indianapolis nonprofits
Indianapolis, IN (December 4, 2018): The Indianapolis Rotary Foundation awards annual Community Grants through a competitive application and review process. The Indianapolis Rotary Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of the 2018-19 Community Grants.
• WFYI Public Media will receive $25,000 to fund a recurring, interactive program at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center that will feature the “Eva” documentary, a half-hour discussion and an interactive exhibit. The “Eva” documentary brings difficult topics to the forefront as it features the life journey of Eva Mozes Kor, Holocaust survivor.
• Fight for Life Foundation will receive $25,000 to expand the Building Dreams program to serve an additional 1,500 vulnerable students at five K-8 schools within the Indianapolis Public Schools boundaries. The program works to overcome trauma and build social-emotional competencies.
• Dove Recovery House will receive $10,000 to support “Steps to Success,” a community outreach and housing initiative to expand programming for women who are taking the first step toward recovery, financial stability and securing safe, affordable housing. In addition to two years of support at the House, participants also receive a rental subsidy towards permanent housing.
• Central Indiana Police Foundation will receive $10,000 to equip 110 local police officers with Trauma Kits that provide training and tools to help address immediate needs of those who are injured during a first response call. With the Kits, police officers can provide life saving treatment until ambulatory services arrive.
“We had over 100 applications submitted this year. The number of applicants highlights the incredible needs and services provided throughout Central Indiana,” says Indianapolis Rotary Foundation President Bill Bubenzer. “We appreciate the hard work of all those who submitted applications and are confident that our Community Grant recipients will use their funding to make a significant community impact.”

$70,000 in funding distributed to four Indianapolis nonprofits
Indianapolis, IN (November 20, 2017): The Indianapolis Rotary Foundation awards annual Community Grants through a competitive application and review process. The Indianapolis Rotary Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of the 2017-18 Community Grants.
Craine House will receive $25,000 to serve more women in their work release program. Through family therapy, substance abuse counseling and vocational programs, Craine House provides women with a safe and structured, homelike setting to live with their preschool aged children.
Paramount School of Excellence will receive $25,000 to build an Eco Discovery Center where students from the school (that serves 764 students, of whom 94% are from families at or below poverty level) will participate in captivating, inquiry based environmental and life science experiences.
Ascent 121 will receive $10,000 to provide supplement clinical services that support their mission to provide long-term trauma recovery for Indiana teen survivors of human trafficking. Ascent 121 served over a hundred victims in 2016 and expects a 50% increase in 2017.
Morning Light will receive $10,000 to fully develop the Rotary Club of Indianapolis Memorial Garden at the Abbie Hunt Bryce Home, central Indiana’s only free hospice home for residents who have nowhere else to go. The Garden provides a respite for those in their final days and also memorializes residents who have passed with memorial bricks.
