    Join us Tuesday to hear from Brad Bobenmoyer the Vice President of Marketing for Young & Laramore. Young & Laramore is a national full-service advertising agency, whose services include strategic marketing and proprietary research, multi-platform media planning and buying through their media division, EchoPoint Media, and creative in every imaginable platform.

    Brad will share with us about Young & Laramore’s history, services and projects. Brad has been with Young & Laramore for 13 years, where he used to lead the Farm Bureau Insurance, Trane, Wolverine Footwear and Speedway accounts before taking over the reins of the new business team.
     
    Before joining Young & Laramore, he worked on brands including New Balance, Carhartt and Ford Motor Company as a strategic brand and business director in Chicago and Detroit.

    Join us Tuesday to hear from Rob Dixon, the Artistic and Education Director for the Indianapolis Jazz Foundation, Northwestern Jazz Saxophone Lecturer and Director of the IU Jazz Ensemble.

    He will lead us through an engaging synopsis of Indiana music history from the great composers Hoagy Carmichael and Cole Porter to the iconic jazz legends, Wes Montgomery, JJ Johnson, and the Hampton Sisters all the way up to popular music sensations including Michael Jackson, John Mellencamp, Babyface and Joshua Bell.

    Rob will also share about the upcoming Indy Jazz Fest that will be taking place in downtown Indy on September 17-28.

    Dr. Tiffany Kyser

    Join us Tuesday to hear from Dr. Tiffany Kyser. Dr. Kyser is an educator with more than 18 years’ experience across the entire spectrum of education – from K-12 teaching to higher education administration. Her work is rooted in educational policy, adult learning and change management. Dr. Kyser serves as the Executive Director of Outreach and Engagement for Indiana University Alumni Association as well as a Trustee for Culver Academies. 

    Dr. Kyser will share with us about Culver Academies which is a private, co-educational, residential high school for grades 9-12. It consists of Culver Military Academy for boys, Culver Girls Academy and the Culver Summer Schools and Camps.

    July 30: Amber Maze

    Join us Tuesday to hear from Amber Maze with the Indianapolis Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC). JCRC serves as the liaison between elected representatives, policy leaders, and members of Jewish communities throughout Indiana. They advocate for policies that promote equity, religious freedom, and human rights.  

    The JCRC was one of the 2023 Indianapolis Rotary Foundation Community Grant Recipients for their production of Sweet Lorraine in Auschwitz. The documentary is part of a mission to educate the public about the Holocaust and help counter antisemitism. We will hear about the production of the documentary and the story of Frank Grunwald, a Hoosier Holocaust survivor.

    Amber Maze is an expert in the field of genocide education and mass atrocity prevention. Her work focuses on Holocaust and genocide education, human rights advocacy, and the preservation of memory. Amber’s career has led her to work for the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and the Enough Project, a Washington D.C.-based genocide prevention organization. Amber holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Ball State University and a Master of Arts in Holocaust and Genocide Studies from Stockton University of New Jersey. Amber also serves as the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Crane Center for Mass Atrocity Prevention.

    Join us Tuesday to hear from Joe Bastin the President of Bastin Honey Bee Farm. Joe graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with an engineering degree. After graduating he went on to work at an industrial construction company and beekeeping became a hobby. He turned his hobby into a career and now works with 75 million bees. 

    Joe has taken his desire to improve bee populations and help others who do the same to a profitable business. He has grown to the largest bee keeping supply retail store in the state. Through this store, he enjoys helping others get into bee keeping with equipment for extracting honey, tools and protective gear. The store also sells small colonies of bees for those wishing to start.

    Joe will share his background and current business to help educate us on the status of bees and their importance to agriculture and the environment.

    Join us Tuesday to hear from Santos Salinas the Rotary District 6560 Governor. He oversees the 42 clubs in our district and is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Kokomo Early-Risers. He will share his vision and passion for Rotary and provide a preview for the new Rotary year.

    Santos joined the Rotary Club of Kokomo Early-Risers in 2011. He participates in community activities promoting early literacy and food scarcity. Early literacy is his biggest passion having worked to grow an Imagination Library program to nearly 3,000 participants. Santos served as Rotary President from 2019-2021. While President of the Kokomo Early-Risers they were able to secure an $80,000 global grant to provide a mobile ambulance in Uganda. He is a proud member of the Paul Harris Society and a Paul Harris Fellow +7.  

    In addition to Rotary, Santos is involved with many community organizations, especially organizations that help with youth. He has been actively involved with Real Men Read, Kokomo Urban Outreach, Turning Point, the United Way, and the Greater Kokomo Chamber of Commerce. Professionally, Santos is a Financial Advisor for Edward Jones in Kokomo.

    Join us Tuesday to hear from Melina Kennedy the CEO of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP). The CICP consists of CEOs of prominent businesses, academia, and philanthropy to drive economic prosperity for the region. Kennedy has more than 25 years of experience in law, government, and business, including 11 years as a senior leader at Cummins Inc., a fortune 500 global power technology company where she held a variety of leadership roles in the Engine and Power Systems businesses as well as Vice President in Compliance and Regulatory Affairs. In addition, she had a successful law career at Baker and Daniels LLP; and was Deputy Mayor for Economic Development for the City of Indianapolis.

    Kennedy is active in her community and served as President of the Capital Improvement Board for 7 years, and is currently a board member for the National Bank of Indianapolis, the Indiana University Academic Medical Center and the Indianapolis Urban League; and was on the NBA 2024 All Star Committee. She has been recognized as an IBJ 250 Most Influential Leader, IBJ Forty Under 40, IBJ Influential Women and Indiana University Varsity Club Leanne Grotke Award recipient as a former IU Varsity letter winner. She is a graduate of Indiana University with B.S., M.S. and J.D. degrees.

    Our club will NOT be meeting for lunch on June 25. Instead, we hope you’ve purchased your tickets for the Celebration Dinner, which will be a delightful opportunity to gather and celebrate the Rotary year. 

    Tickets are still available for the dinner. Tickets must be purchased by Friday, June 21 at 11 am on Square. Tickets will not be sold at the door. The public is welcome and encouraged to join us for this spectacular night.

    Join us Tuesday to hear from Tiffany Trusty, the Director of Digital Health at Eli Lilly and Company. Tiffany will be speaking about the challenges and rewards for women in developing and managing new technology.

    Tiffany was recruited to Eli Lilly and Company in 2017 to lend her 20 years of software product development expertise to their forthcoming Digital Health organization. At Lilly, she has grown her expertise to include Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), specifically patient facing mobile applications. Tiffany began her career at Motorola where she learned the software development lifecycle (SDLC) craft. Experiencing everything from estimation and architecture to coding and testing, Tiffany left Motorola as a Senior Architect with expertise in Design for Testability and Cybersecurity.

    Tiffany earned her bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (the 2nd woman to graduate from the previously all-male, #1 in its class institution). After a decade in the industry, she returned to Rose-Hulman to obtain her master’s degree in Engineering Management. Tiffany is a leader in Women in High Tech and other efforts to promote the involvement of more women and minorities in high tech careers like hers.
