Rotary District 6560 (Central Indiana) is hosting a virtual callout meeting for the Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) program on Thursday, September 11 at 8:00 pm.
What it is: A full academic year abroad, sponsored by Rotary, an international service organization.
Why it matters: Rotary Youth Exchange is one of the most affordable ways to study abroad in high school, while also building leadership skills and a spirit of service.

Join us Tuesday at noon as we welcome Dr. Vanchit John, Chair of the Department of Periodontology at the IU School of Dentistry.
Dr. John has been part of the school since 1992, completing his dental and periodontology training in both Madras, India, and at IU. In 1999, he joined the faculty, and by 2007, became Chair of the department. A Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, Dr. John also maintains a private practice focused on Periodontology and Implant Dentistry.
His many honors include being named O’Leary-Hancock Endowed Professor in 2023 and receiving the IU President’s Award for Distinguished Teaching in 2024.
Dr. John will share an inside look at the latest research, developments at the dental school, and a deeper understanding of periodontology today. All are welcome at Rotary programs!

Join us Tuesday to hear from Ann Hannan, Director of the Riley Cheer Guild and Gift Shops at Riley Children’s Health.
The Riley Cheer Guild, a 101-year-old volunteer auxiliary, is dedicated to bringing comfort and cheer to patients and caregivers at Riley Hospital for Children and IU Health’s adult hospitals. From music, art, and dance movement therapy to maintaining the beloved toy room, the Guild funds programs that uplift and enhance the hospital experience for children and families.
Ann will share insights into these impactful initiatives and the vital role the Cheer Guild plays in patient care. We’ll also hear from our Community Service Committee about how our club continues to support the Guild’s mission.
This fall, Ann celebrates 25 years with IU Health, Riley, and the Riley Cheer Guild. She began as Riley’s first board-certified music therapist, creating a hospital-wide program serving all inpatient units. Since 2016, she has served as Director of the Guild and continues to support pediatric ethics consultations through the Fairbanks Center for Medical Ethics.
