    September 30: No Meeting

There will be no formal program on Tuesday, but members and guests are invited to join us at noon at the Rathskeller Restaurant for an informal lunch.

This is a great opportunity to engage with fellow Rotarians, share ideas, and enjoy relaxed conversation. Whether you’re a longtime member or just beginning your Rotary journey, it’s a wonderful way to strengthen relationships and stay connected with the Club.

Prospective members are also welcome to attend and learn more about Rotary.

October 12: World Premier of Sweet Lorraine in Auschwitz

The Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) is proud to announce the world premiere of Sweet Lorraine in Auschwitz at the 34th Heartland International Film Festival on Sunday, October 12, at 1:00 pm in the Tobias Theater at Newfields. Additional screenings will be held at the Alamo Drafthouse Theater on Thursday, October 16, at 4:45 pm and Sunday, October 19, at 12:00 pm. Tickets are available online.

In December 2023, the Indianapolis Rotary Foundation awarded a $10,000 Community Grant to the JCRC to support the final production and post-production of this important documentary. Sweet Lorraine in Auschwitz shares powerful first-hand accounts of the Holocaust, with the goal of expanding historical knowledge among Indiana students, combating antisemitism, and preserving a living history for future generations.

We encourage Rotarians and the public to attend one of these screenings and experience this moving film.

  • Rotarians Help Beautify Mass Ave

    Rotarians Help Beautify Mass Ave

On Saturday, September 13, several Rotarians and their family members joined together to clean up two large flower beds along Mass Ave in downtown Indianapolis.

Rotarians Norm Melzer, Monica Peterson, Erin Weesner and her son Cole, Anthony Swinger and his son James, and Erik Johnson spent the morning pulling weeds and restoring the Rotary-sponsored beds located just west of the Athenaeum. These flower beds are part of Rotary’s ongoing beautification initiative along Mass Ave. Thanks to the hard work of our members and their families, visitors and residents alike will enjoy a more welcoming environment as they gather at restaurants, attend cultural and sporting events, and visit nearby parks.

Thank you to everyone who pitched in to make a difference!
