    Natalie Sutton – Executive Director, Susan G. Komen® Central Indiana

    Susan G. Komen Central Indiana is celebrating the 25th Annual Race for the Cure on April 16, 2016. Learn how thousands of volunteers, participants and small donations come together each year to create a big impact on our community and the lives of local women affected by breast cancer. The presentation will touch on advances in the breast cancer movement and the complex issues and challenges Susan G. Komen is addressing today.

    Natalie Sutton joined Susan G. Komen® Central Indiana as the Executive Director in January 2014. A native Hoosier, Natalie has more than a decade of experience working locally, regionally and nationally for voluntary health organizations. Her prior roles include Senior Development and Corporate Relations Officer at the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, Division Vice President for the American Liver Foundation and Campaign Director for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Indiana Chapter. She is a 2003 graduate of DePauw University and earned a Master of Public Affairs in Nonprofit Management from the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs in Indianapolis.

    Natalie is proud to be a part of the Susan G. Komen Central Indiana family and to lead an organization made up of so many devoted volunteers, supporters and breast cancer survivors. She is committed to Komen’s Promise to save lives and end breast cancer.

    Natalie grew up in the small town of Haubstadt, Indiana (a one-stoplight town just north of Evansville). When she is not working at Komen, you will find Natalie with her son Henry and husband Caleb at the park or The Children’s Museum. She also enjoys sewing, home improvement projects, listening to NPR and reading nonfiction business books.

    The Indiana Chamber of Commerce has been representing the state’s business community and their employees for more than 90 years. Learn a little about the Chamber and its 2016 advocacy efforts as part of its mission to cultivate a world-class environment which provides economic opportunity and prosperity for the people of Indiana and their enterprises.

    Kevin joined the Indiana Chamber’s lobbying team in November 1992, became the chief lobbyist and senior vice president of government affairs in 1997 and president and CEO in 2002.

    Previously, Kevin served nine years as a financial analyst for the Finance Committee of the Indiana Senate and three years as a management analyst for the Legislative Services Agency.

    Kevin is recognized as an expert in the areas of business taxation, property taxation, local government, state budget and school finance.

    Kevin received his bachelor’s of science degree from Indiana University. He holds a master’s degree in public administration, with majors in public financial administration and labor relations, as well as a master’s degree in business administration (with a major in corporate finance), both from Indiana University.

Marc will talk about fulfilling this lifelong dream, the 15-goals they set as a family and their 17-month life on their sailboat, Adagio.

    Since being appointed the State Health Commissioner in October of 2014, Dr. Jerome Adams has provided expert leadership during unprecedented public health challenges such as the Ebola virus outbreak, and escalating drug use that have caused HIV and Hepatitis health emergencies in Indiana.  Along with state leaders, he has also led the tremendous Labor of Love campaign, an effort to reduce infant mortality in Indiana.  Join us as the very engaging Dr. Adams shares his perspectives on the health of Indiana and how it can impact both business and the community.

    Indianapolis Rotary Foundation Raises over $6,300.00 on December 15, 2015

    It was a festive and fun Rotary Club of Indianapolis program on December 15, 2015! Beautiful floral centerpieces were generously donated by Rotarian Tiffany Wesseler and her company Eagledale Florist. These centerpieces were sold and over $400 (ALL of the proceeds) were given to the Indianapolis Rotary Foundation.
    There was a reindeer (pictured: Ann Gioe), Officers of the Rotary Club of Indianapolis dressed-up in their favorite holiday clothing. There was an Elfie station set-up for attendees to get fun photos. Of course, the Riley Plea Tree was displayed with lots of toy donations from Rotarians. All, were given to Riley Children on December 15. The audience was entertained by the amazing Indianapolis Men’s Chorus. And, the Past Presidents “Stop the Singing” campaign helped the Indianapolis Rotary Foundation raise over $6,300 for the Foundation. This money will be used to help make Indianapolis a better community! Happy Holidays from the Rotary Club of Indianapolis!

He has expanded school choice, increased educational opportunity for Hoosier families by signing into law the first State funding for pre-K education in Indiana, and addressed Indiana’s skills gap by making career and technical education a priority in every Indiana high school. And, because roads mean jobs here in the Crossroads of America, under his leadership the state has invested more than $800 million in new money for roads and bridges in Indiana.

    Connie Lawson is Indiana’s 61st Secretary of State. A tireless advocate for improving elections in Indiana, increasing Indiana’s financial literacy and protecting Indiana investors, Secretary Lawson is also directing substantial innovation and leveraging cutting edge technology to improve how businesses interact with government which is what she will discuss at Rotary on Tuesday.

    Secretary Lawson will offer Rotary members a review of Indiana’s new crowdfunding rules, which give entrepreneurs an opportunity to learn about new ways to raise capital and give investors an opportunity to learn about new ways to invest in Indiana. She will also talk about her office’s Business One-Stop project, which will allow Hoosier business owners to connect to all of state government from one portal.  Finally, she will discuss Benefit Corporations, a new way to structure a business with a defined social or environmental purpose.

    Secretary Lawson lends her substantial leadership experience to help great organizations.  She is a regional vice president of the National Association of Secretaries of State, an honorary governor of the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series, the honorary chairwoman of the Lupus Foundation of Indiana, and a co-chair of the Hendricks County United Way to name just a few.

    Prior to serving as Secretary of State, Lawson served in the Indiana Senate for sixteen years, where she accomplished significant legislative success. Respected across the aisle, she quickly earned the admiration of her colleagues and made history in 2006 when she was selected as the first woman to serve as Majority Floor Leader in the Indiana Senate.

    Gregory A. Ballard is the Republican mayor of Indianapolis and will complete his second term at the end of December. On Tuesday, November 6, 2007, he defeated incumbent Democratic Mayor Bart Peterson and it was described as one of the biggest upsets in the political history of Indiana. Ballard was re-elected in November 2011 and has experienced a rich legacy of improving Indianapolis, including creating an administration and city culture that embraces energy savings, including the massive expansion of bike lanes and modifying the city fleet of vehicles. Join us as we honor his tenure as mayor and thank him for service.
