    Join us Tuesday to hear from Jason Weddle the CEO of Hamilton, a national event marketing/brand development company on the east side of Indianapolis.

    Hamilton got its start building floats for the Indianapolis 500 Parade in the 1960s and has since expanded to a national presence, designing and developing high-impact experience-generating exhibits for Rolls-Royce, Cummins, MailChimp, Baxter Healthcare and other Fortune 100 companies.

    Jason led the unusual and successful engagement with the Indiana State Department of Health, where Hamilton created a mass vaccination platform at the University of Notre Dame and dozens of other COVID-19 vaccination sites in Indiana that delivered more than 100,000 vaccinations.

    Jason began his career at Hamilton in 2005 as warehouse foreman. He was promoted to Director of Production in 2009, VP of Operations in 2014, COO in 2018 and CEO in 2021. Always an avid Hoosier fan, Jason studied Business Management at Indiana University. In addition, he’s an Executive Scholar from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

    February 1: Cullen McCarty

    Join us Tuesday to hear from Cullen McCarty the Executive Vice President and fifth generation owner of Smithville Communications based in Ellettsville, Indiana. Smithville is the state’s largest privately held rural telecom company, serving over twenty counties in central and southern Indiana.

    A recognized industry veteran, Cullen has been an advocate for insuring competitive and robust broadband, particularly for rural areas of the United States for over twenty years. He regularly works with members of Congress and staffers to promote positive policy development.

    Cullen currently serves on the Government Affairs Committee of the Indiana Broadband and Technology Association. On a local level, he is a member of the Monroe County Redevelopment Commission; the Greene County Economic Development Corporation Housing Committee; and is helping shepherd strategic relationships with Smithville’s local Rural Electric Membership Cooperatives.

    A lifelong Hoosier, Cullen has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University and resides in rural Monroe County with his wife Rachel and their two children.

    Join us Tuesday to hear from Lori Taylor the Founder & CEO of The Produce Moms. The Produce Moms is a widely-recognized lifestyle brand and community that is on a mission to put more fruits and vegetables on every table. Lori sold fresh produce to grocery retailers for ten years and often appears in the media as a cook and produce industry expert. Her media appearances always include innovative and inspiring ways to prepare and eat fresh produce. 

    The Produce Moms website features hundreds of recipes and educational content authored by Lori. Her content has been featured by Oprah, Martha Stewart, GQ Magazine, Real Simple Magazine, HuffPost, StyleCaster, and more. The Produce Moms branded fruits & vegetables are sold at Walmart, Target, Whole Foods, Kroger, Safeway Albertsons and other grocery retailers throughout the United States.
     
    Lori is the host of The Produce Moms Podcast, a seasoned Keynote Speaker, and a recipient of many accolades including the inaugural Forbes Next 1000 initiative which spotlights start-up entrepreneurs that are changing the world through influence and innovation.

    Lori serves on the board and advisory councils to Global Women Fresh, Equitable Food Initiative, United Fresh Start Foundation, and Indianapolis Public Schools. She often speaks with school officials and lawmakers to support public policy to increase the availability of fresh produce in USDA School Meals and other child nutrition programs. 

    Lori resides in Indianapolis, Indiana with her husband, two sons, and their Great Dane.

    January 18: Mickey Maurer

    Join us Tuesday to hear from Michael S. (“Mickey”) Maurer. Mickey’s career as an attorney and entrepreneur has included television, film production, radio broadcasting, newspaper publishing, real estate and banking. An Indianapolis native, Mickey graduated from North Central High School. He attended the University of Colorado and graduated with a B.S. in accounting. Mickey attended Indiana University School of Law where he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence. 

    Mickey serves as Chairman of the Board of IBJ Corporation. IBJ owns and publishes The Indianapolis Business Journal, Court and Commercial Record, and The Indiana Lawyer. Mickey is the former Chairman of the Board of Directors of The National Bank of Indianapolis. Throughout his career Mickey has been involved in a number of other industries. His film, “Diving In” enjoyed a national release and showings on HBO and Cinemax. Mickey hosted an Emmy award winning program on Fox 59, “Mickey’s Corner” in which he interviewed Indiana luminaries.

    In 2001, Mickey established “Mickey’s Camp,” a charitable endeavor that has raised more than $3 million for central Indiana charities. In 2005, Mickey was named President of the Indiana Economic Development Corp. and in 2006 was named Indiana Secretary of Commerce by Governor Mitch Daniels.

    Mickey enjoys leadership through active participation as a director of numerous businesses, civic, educational and philanthropic organizations. He has served as President of the Jewish Community Relations Council and Chairman of the Board of the Indianapolis Zoological Society and the United Way of Central Indiana. In 2008, in recognition of Mickey’s longtime service and generosity to his alma mater, Indiana University School of Law — Bloomington was renamed Indiana University Maurer School of Law. 

    Mickey is a published contributor to the New York Times crossword puzzle and was a writer and editor for the Law Journal. He has authored seven books including his most recent, The Methuselah Gene in 2021.

    Join us Tuesday to hear from Hye Jin Kalgaonkar the CEO and founder of The Hot Room. The Hot Room has five studio locations in the greater Indianapolis, Bloomington, and Chicago areas.  

    While living overseas, Hye Jin pursued her first yoga and pilates teaching certifications and had the opportunity to teach all over the world. When it came time to return to the US, she made the decision to leave her corporate career with Eli Lilly and open the first Hot Room studio in Indianapolis.  

    Launched in 2013, The Hot Room introduced a positive, welcoming approach to sharing hot yoga.  After traveling and taking classes at hundreds of studios around the world, Hye Jin knew that there had to be a better way to make hot yoga accessible to anyone no matter their ability level and with the beginner in mind. 

    In the past 8 years, Hye Jin and her team have grown her small business to a multi location company with 100 employees, launched a digital platform making classes accessible to anyone in the world and is recognized as a leader in the world of hot yoga. She has cultivated a diverse community who is passionate about the healing and transformative benefits of a hot room practice. The company is also making an impact nationally with the creation of the Hot Room Leadership Institute, Global Wellness Retreats and their new non-profit, The Breathe Foundation.

  • January 4: Patrick Talty

    Join us on Tuesday to hear from Patrick Talty the Chief Operating Officer at Indiana Sports Corp. He is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of three departments: events, marketing and public relations and youth programs. In addition, he contributes to the strategic planning and direction of the organization and plays a lead role with relationship management, bidding and organizational best practices. 

    In his previous role as general manager of U.S. Bank Stadium, Talty was responsible for the overall management and operation of the stadium. Talty successfully led his team through the opening and first year of operations at the stadium, followed by subsequent years hosting premier sporting events including the 2016 International Champions Cup, Vikings home games, Super Bowl LII and the 2019 NCAA Men’s Final Four. 

    Prior to Minnesota, Talty was the Senior Vice President for Live Events at World Wrestling Entertainment. He was responsible for touring and marketing over 400 events across three brands worldwide each year. He came to WWE from serving as Regional General Manager of Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi, UAE. While in the Middle East, he was responsible for the overall management of Zayed Sports City which contained the National Soccer Stadium, a tennis center, an Olympic sized ice rink, and an international bowling alley. In addition, he was responsible for a purpose built concert venue, and consulted on several sports construction projects in the region.  

    Talty was part of the opening and management team of State Farm Stadium in Glendale Arizona, the home of the Arizona Cardinals. There he was part of hosting the annual Fiesta Bowl game, the first ever BCS National Championship game and Super Bowl XLII.

    Talty began his career in Indianapolis at the Indiana Convention Center and RCA Dome and earned a degree in accounting from Virginia Tech.

We will highlight the recently announced community grant recipients from the Indianapolis Rotary Foundation’s support and raise additional dollars to keep the Club’s philanthropy strong and enduring.

  • December 7: Doug Boles

    Join us Tuesday to hear from Doug Boles the President of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation. Boles is responsible for the daily operations of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and all three world-class racing events at the facility – the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge, the Indycar Grand Prix, and the Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard. He also is responsible for exploring and expanding business opportunities for the Speedway. In 2017, IMS hosted more than 275 event days of activity, including the newly created Lights at the Brickyard holiday experience that started in 2016.

    Boles served as chief operating officer of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway from January-June 2013 along with his role as vice president of communications for Hulman & Company, which he assumed in November 2011. Boles joined the company in November 2010 as IMS director of public relations after more than 15 years of executive-level motorsports experience in team operations, marketing, sponsorship and public relations. 

    During his time as president, Boles oversaw the investment of over $100 million in the highly publicized Project 100 renovation of the 108 year old venue, the largest sporting venue in the world and the implementation of the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500. He and his team also secured and executed the first ever, standalone music event at IMS when it played host to the Rolling Stones on July 4, 2015. Recently, IMS secured a multi-year agreement to host an LPGA golf tournament beginning in 2017 at the facility’s Pete Dye designed golf course. 

    A Butler University graduate who also earned a law degree from the Indiana University School of Law at Indianapolis, Boles served as executive vice president of the marketing and advertising agency ignition, Inc., from 2006-08. He then became partner in the marketing agency i3Worldwide while conducting his own private law practice, primarily representing drivers, race teams and sponsors. 

    The Indiana native was a founding partner of Panther Racing, at the time one of the IndyCar Series’ most successful teams, and served as a co-owner and team chief operating officer from 1997 until early 2006. 

    Boles also served as director of governmental and corporate affairs for Indianapolis Mayor Stephen Goldsmith from 1992-97, where he spearheaded the nation’s first government-led effort to attract motorsports companies and jobs to a community. 

    Boles serves on the boards of the 500 Festival, IEEI/GSF Center Advisory Board, Indianapolis Public Safety Foundation, Motorsports Hall of Fame of America, and United States Auto Club. He has previously taught courses at his alma mater, Butler University, and was selected as a member of the first group of “50 Under 50” highlighting Butler graduates.
