| Join us Tuesday for a special Veterans Day program with Marine Corporal Josh Bleill. After graduating high school, Josh attended Purdue University. Upon completion of his education, Josh decided to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps in 2004 and was activated for a tour of duty in Iraq in 2006. While serving in Iraq, Corporal Bleill was severely injured, resulting in the loss of both of his legs. After extensive rehabilitation, Bleill returned to Indiana in August of 2008, where he attacked his new life head-on. This new life included employment as the Indianapolis Colts Community Spokesperson. In 2017, Josh took a new step in his journey by starting his own speaking company, Josh Bleill LLC, to do public speaking independently. His powerful message of overcoming adversity and taking life one step at a time is inspiring audiences around the country. All are welcome at Rotary programs. Over the last year, Kristine and Binghui have been investigating the untold stories behind Indiana’s RV boom: shoddy work, unhappy buyers, and a near-death experience. The RV industry, one of the biggest manufacturing sectors in Indiana where 80% of all RVs in America are made, was quick to capitalize on the new and unprecedented demand during the pandemic. Kristine and Binghui will share stories of the grueling conditions RV workers endured as companies saw record sales and profits as well as safety concerns for new RV owners.

October 18: Indiana Secretary of State Town Hall

Join us Tuesday as we welcome Destiny Wells and Jeff Maurer for our Indiana Secretary of State Town Hall meeting. Our program will be moderated by Robert Vane the President & CEO of Veteran Strategies, Inc and the Host of Leaders & Legends Podcast.
Democrat Destiny Wells has served in government at the local, state, federal, and multi-national level. Previously she was Associate Corporation Counsel for the City of Indianapolis and Marion County, and Deputy Attorney General for the State of Indiana. A military intelligence officer in the U.S. Army Reserve, Destiny has over 18 years of service. She has completed multiple tours, to include a combat tour in Afghanistan, and now instructs with the Army Command and General Staff College. Nationally, she is recognized as Defense Council with the Truman National Security Project.
Libertarian Jeff Maurer is an entrepreneur whose career spans tech, transportation, and budget and finance. He serves as a development officer for Students For Liberty, the largest pro-liberty student organization which champions free markets and free speech around the world. Jeff is currently enlisted in the Indiana Air National Guard, and continues to serve our state and our nation.
Republican Diego Morales was invited, but declined to participate.

October 11: Stephen Ferguson
Join us Tuesday to hear from Stephen Ferguson. A graduate of Wabash College 63 and Indiana University School of Law 68, Steve was elected to the Indiana House of Representatives in 1966, serving four terms while establishing a law practice in Bloomington, Indiana.
As Chairman of the Board of Cook Group and President of French Lick Resort, Ferguson has been actively involved in redevelopment and historic preservation including rebirth of Downtown Bloomington. Ferguson led the renovation and operation of the historic French Lick Resort. He has also played a key role in the growth of Cook Medical, a global leader in the medical devices industry.
Ferguson has been elected or appointed to the boards of directors of many organizations, including the National Endowment for the Humanities, Clarian Health (now IU Health), the 21st Century Research and Technology Fund, the Governor’s Education Roundtable, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, the Indiana State Chamber of Commerce, Central Indiana Corporate Partnership, and Radius Indiana economic development regional partnership, and Chair of Higher Education Commissioner He also served twelve years on the Indiana University Board of Trustees, 2005 to 2009 as President.
He raises Hereford cattle and continues to run the farm operation that has been in his family for more than 200 years. Steve’s passion for golf, and his vision that it brings economic development vitality to the resort and region, has brought us to this day.
Everyday Steve thinks about Workforce Housing, how every child should be able to read at grade level, employment opportunities for challenged areas, higher education, and conservation preservations for our wonderful state.

Sept. 27: Ben Lytle

Sept. 13: Dr. Paula Gustafson
Join us Tuesday to hear from Dr. Paula Gustafson the Chief Medical Officer and a board-certified pediatrician at Major Health Partners. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and a board member of the Indiana Chapter of the AAP. She is an active health leader in her local community and state with a focus on childhood obesity and early brain development. She is a founding member of the Shelby County Early Learning Coalition. Dr. Gustafson earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at General Motors Institute (Kettering University), a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at MIT, an MBA at INSEAD in Fountainbleau, France, and her Medical Degree at Indiana University School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at IU Health and has been practicing pediatrics in Shelbyville, Indiana for more than 20 years.
