Join us Tuesday to hear from Phyllis Boyd the Director of Indy Parks. Boyd oversees 216 parks, 11,608 acres, aquatic centers, dog parks, family and nature centers, annual programs and activities, and so much more. Assuming the director’s role in November 2021, Boyd and her dedicated staff connect communities by providing enriching experiences for all that inspire healthy living, social engagement, and a love of nature. Boyd previously worked as executive director of Groundwork Indy, a non-profit organization that employs youth to work on community-based projects that equitably enhance environmental, economic, and social well-being. Before joining Groundwork Indy, she practiced landscape architecture and urban planning in the for-profit sector, where her work focused on sustainable design and planning, and supporting efforts of diverse communities to transform their built environments into meaningful, relevant, and life-enhancing places. Boyd holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Indiana University in Bloomington and is a two-time alumna of The University of Texas at Austin, where she received her Master of Arts in Botany in 1997 and her Master of Landscape Architecture in 2006.
