August 27: Gail Lowry & Jonathan Hess

By on August 23, 2024

Join us Tuesday as we hear the behind-the-scenes story of Rotarian of the Century and US Senator Richard Lugar from his past senior staffer, Gail Lowry, now the Chief Philanthropy Officer for Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana. In addition, we will hear from the esteemed artist, Jonathan Hess of Browning Day who is creating the statue of Senator Lugar that will be unveiled on Tuesday, September 3 at Bicentennial Unity Plaza.

Gail Lowry joined Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana in January 2017. As the Chief Philanthropy Officer, she leads the strategic vision, leadership, overall day-to-day management, staff supervision, and coordination of the operational (budgetary and personnel) requirements for the development team. Gail has over 35 years of fundraising experience, and prior to joining Gleaners, was Vice President of Development and Alumni Engagement at Franklin College and a senior staffer to U.S. Senator Richard G. Lugar.

For Jonathan Hess, every project is a new opportunity. From altering skylines to designing signature landmarks, Jonathan knows a trusted relationship is essential. He acts as a conduit for clients to realize their dreams and wishes in a project. He strives to amplify, reflect and focus on appropriate, creative solutions to their needs. With nearly 40 years in the industry, Jonathan’s favorite project is always the next one. His Hippocratic Oath: Make No Ugly. Jonathan is Principal and Chairman of the Board at Browning Day.
