April 18: Ryann Davis

By on April 13, 2023
Ever notice how much litter there is in Indianapolis? Do you wish someone would do something about it? How about your Rotary Club and you?

Join us Tuesday for the Environment and Beautification Committee’s Arbor Day Program with Ryann Davis the Manager of Clean Neighborhoods at Keep Indianapolis Beautiful Inc. Ryann is part of a new team at KIB dedicated to the litter issue. Plus, our club is about to kick off an initiative to get more litter picked up, working in tandem with KIB. Learn what KIB and your Club are doing to reduce litter in Indianapolis.

As the Manager of Clean Neighborhoods, Ryann works primarily with residents on tackling issues surrounding waste pollution and litter abatement with hopes to help people and nature thrive. Prior to helping run KIB’s Adopt-A-Block and Great Indy Cleanup programs, Ryann received her B.S. in Biochemistry with a double minor in Biological Sciences and Art & Design from Purdue University. During her time at Purdue, Ryann formulated a soy-based biodegradable glitter in efforts to help eliminate microplastics before starting neuroimmunology research focused on Glioblastoma and Alzheimer’s Disease. Ryann hopes to utilize her experiences in addition to her passion for people and the environment to help empower the community to create an ecologically rich Indianapolis that is loved and cared for.

Attendees at the program will receive free Anemones to plant in their gardens, courtesy of the Environment and Beautification Committee. All are welcome at Rotary programs. If attending in-person at the Murat Shrine reservations and prepayment are appreciated, but not required. Register on Square at https://rotary-club-of-indianapolis.square.site/.
