Join us next Tuesday to hear from Peter Thawnghmung and John Thawnghmung. They came to the US in the 1980s to fulfill their dream of becoming US citizens. Both men are civic and business leaders. Peter is President of the Chin Community of Indiana and a member of the Southport International Rotary Club. He is also the CEO of Yo-Health, a company that manufactures yogurt that is distributed throughout the country. Peter recently opened Yoshi a restaurant on New York St. in downtown Indy. The restaurant gets it’s name from it’s menu, yogurt, hibachi and sushi. Peter has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Michigan. John is the founding President of the Southport International Rotary Club, taking it from a satellite club to a separately charted Rotary Club. He is the Founder & CEO of Indy Staffing, that serves a diverse population on the Southside of Indianapolis. John previously worked in aircraft engine research and development. He then spent over 20 years in the automotive industry as an engineering director and plant manager. John has a Mechanical Engineering degree from University of Michigan. Both men are leaders, entrepreneurs and vocal supporters of a new unified government in Myanmar, formerly Burma. Their stories of success in the US, are great examples of the importance of immigrants to our country. All are welcome at Rotary programs.
