  • November 29: Service Project with ISBVI

Join the Rotary Club of Indianapolis for our Fifth Tuesday program, where we use our time together for community service. The club will welcome school leaders from the Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ISBVI) as they share more information about the 175 year old institution that provides educational resources and education for children and young adults up to age 22.

After we learn about the mission of the ISBVI, members will spend time creating Food Packs for selected families to help supplement their groceries over the two week holiday in December. Why food boxes? Families with children at this school often have extra burdens. It is estimated that 66% of children with vision impairments suffer from additional disabilities, putting additional financial and emotional stress on families with blind or visually impaired children. We look forward to packing up some holiday cheer for these families in hopes we bring a bit of support at a time they need it most. Join us in this community service activation!

All are welcome at Rotary programs. If attending in-person at the Murat Shrine reservations and prepayment are appreciated, but not required. • November 22: Larry Lunsford

    November 22: Larry Lunsford

Join us Tuesday as we welcome Larry Lunsford, a Trustee with The Rotary Foundation. A certified public accountant, Larry is the Senior Vice President/CFO of Bernstein-Rein Advertising, Inc. in Kansas City, Missouri.

Larry’s passion for Rotary and his invitation into the family of Rotary began during his college years when in 1982 he was selected as a Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholar to Australia. Larry joined Rotary in 1991, served as his club’s President in 1997-98, served as District Governor of District 6040 (Missouri) in 2001-02, and served as Rotary International Director in 2013-15. He is a past member and Chair of the Rotary International Membership Committee. Larry and his wife Jill served as Aides to Rotary International President Mark Daniel Maloney, and his wife Gay, for the 2019-2020 Rotary year. In the 2020-2021 Rotary year, Larry served as Chair on the Rotary Peace Centers Committee of the Rotary Foundation, and also served his third year as a member of the Shaping Rotary’s Future Committee for Rotary International. The Rotary Foundation supports the efforts of Rotary International to achieve world understanding and peace through international humanitarian, educational, and cultural exchange programs.  The foundation was created in 1917 by Rotary International’s sixth president, Arch C. Klumph, as an endowment fund for Rotary “to do good in the world.” It has grown from an initial contribution of $26.50 to more than $1 billion. That one idea, and an initial contribution, set in motion a powerful force that has transformed millions of lives around the globe. Larry will update us on the incredible impact The Rotary Foundation is making on improving the world we live in.

  • November 16: Corporate Membership Breakfast Series

Corporate membership breakfasts are back and the next one is quickly approaching on Wednesday, November 16th at Conner Insurance.

The meetings will be from 7:30 am – 9:00 am with the first 20-30 minutes dedicated to networking/introductions/business items, etc. followed by a 45-minute speaker presentation with time for Q&A.

On November 16 we will hear from sought after speaker, author and advisor, CJ McClanahan.

Since 2003, CJ has spent more than 10,000 hours in front of entrepreneurs, executives and their teams helping them achieve personal and professional breakthrough goals.

However, no matter how much success his clients achieved, few ever seemed to truly enjoy the journey. It didn’t matter if they doubled their income or became CEO – it never seemed to be enough.

CJ has spent the last 19 years uncovering strategies to help fellow recovering overachievers get more satisfaction and joy in their lives while still achieving their professional goals.

This event is for Rotary Club of Indianapolis Corporate Members or those interested in becoming a corporate member. Please register on Eventbrite if you plan on attending.
