    On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, the Rotary Club of Indianapolis elected seven members to serve on the Board of Directors for two years, beginning on July 1, 2025. We are pleased to welcome the following community leaders to serve our club in leadership positions.

    March 18: Brian Stemme

    Join us Tuesday to hear from Brian Stemme the CEO of the Hoosier Cancer Research Network (HCRN). A recognized leader in Indiana’s life sciences sector, Brian brings extensive expertise in cancer research and development, spanning academia, pharma/biotech, and contract research organizations.

    Prior to HCRN, he was Senior VP for BioCrossroads, where he played a pivotal role in attracting major investments to Indiana, including the recruitment of Abbott Cardiovascular and Express Scripts. Brian also co-founded AgriNovus Indiana and led early-stage efforts for the 16 Tech Innovation District. Under his leadership, HCRN advances cutting-edge oncology trials, collaborating with top institutions to bring innovative treatments to patients.

    Brian will share with us the life-changing and important work which is being done on the northwest side of Indy but impacting lives around the world.

    In celebration of Women’s History Month, we invite you to join us Tuesday for a special opportunity to hear from Chelsea Marburger, the Executive Director of the Indianapolis Propylaeum. Chelsea will share the inspiring story of the Indianapolis Propylaeum, an organization that has been a vital part of the community, connecting and celebrating women for over a century.

    Since 1888, the Propylaeum has been a space where women can gather, use their voices, inspire leadership, and continue the powerful legacy of women supporting women. Through a variety of arts and cultural programs, the Propylaeum serves the diverse community of Indianapolis while preserving and maintaining its historic home.

    For 100 years, the Propylaeum has made its mark as a gathering place for women, and its historic building on North Delaware continues to stand as a testament to the lasting impact of this remarkable organization.

    We hope you’ll join us for this exciting program to learn more about the Propylaeum’s impactful work and celebrate the powerful role women have played in shaping our community and history.

    Nominations Open for ROAR Award

    The Rotary Club of Indianapolis is proud to announce that nominations for the Rotary Outstanding Achievement Recognition (ROAR) Award are open (formerly called Rotarian of the Year). Nominations for Rotarians in good standing who have demonstrated “Service Above Self” during his or her lifetime are being accepted. This award recognizes a life devoted to reflecting the Four Way Test, not just within the Club, but in their career and community life as well. This is considered a lifetime achievement award.

    Completed nominations should be submitted no later than April 30, 2025, to Jamie Hanan via email or by completing the online form below.

    Public announcement of the ROAR Award will occur on June 3, 2025, and the award will be presented at the 2025 Celebration Event scheduled for the evening of June 24, 2025.

    March 22: Flanner House Volunteer Opportunity

    The Environment and Beautification Committee is seeking volunteers for a meaningful service project at Flanner House. On Saturday, March 22, from 9 am – 12 pm, we will be working together to install flower beds and build a shed – a project funded by the Indianapolis Rotary Foundation.

    This is a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community while helping to enhance the beauty of Flanner House. If you’re interested in lending a hand, we would love to have you join us!

    Join us Tuesday for an exciting session on the Ignite app, integrated with DACdb, to enhance your Rotary experience. The Ignite app is designed to put everything you need right in the palm of your hand, allowing you to easily connect with fellow Rotarians and engage with Rotary.

    We’re thrilled to have Arnold Elston, President of the Rotary Club of Carmel, as our guest speaker. Arnold will walk us through the app’s features and show us how to navigate it effectively. The Carmel Club was the first to test the app and has been using it for the past year, so you’ll get a firsthand look at how it works in action.
