  • March 5:31 Club: Pie Cook-off

    3.14159265359…. need we go on? Yes we do!

    NORMALLY National Pi Month is celebrated on March 14 each (yes, that’s 3-14), BUT, we are going to celebrate it on 3-4-2020!!

    All of the numerical fun is often accompanied by delicious food items such as pizza pie, fruit pie, and even pot pies! Get it? Pi. Pie.

    So please channel your inner math geek and get ready to calculate, eat, and celebrate everybody’s favorite never-ending number.

    WHEN: Wednesday, March 4th, from 5:31 pm till 7:00 or 7:30 pm, or anytime in between.
    WHERE: Tried & True Alehouse, 4825 E. 96th Street – Indianapolis, IN 46240
    WHY: Fellowship, fun, and frivolity during our monthly social get-together.

    All Pie entries must be sent in on or before February 25, 2020

  • February 5, 5:31 Club Blind Wine Tasting

    Join us at this year’s 5:31 Club Blind Wine Tasting event hosted by Rotarian Matt Burnett and his wife Jill!

    When: February 5, 2020, starting at 5:31 PM, ending at 7:00 PM

    Where: 1311 Regal Drive, Carmel, IN, 46032

    The rules are simple:

    • RSVP by Monday, February 3rd. If you don’t RSVP, that’s fine, you can still attend. The count helps us with supplies and appetizers.
    • Bring your favorite bottle of wine that retails for $25.00 OR LESS (red or white doesn’t matter)
    • Bring your phone or mobile device (voting will be done online). You will be emailed a link to our voting site. Voting will be turned on at the event. LINK TO VOTING Voting will be turned on Wednesday evening at 5:31 PM
    • The wine with the most votes wins!
    • Have fun!!

    Wines that need to be chilled (most whites) will be wrapped in foil and assigned a number. Wines that don’t need to be chilled (most reds) will be wrapped in brown bags and numbered.

    Cheese and crackers will be provided.

    This is a wine TASTING, but just in case, ride shares from Uber or Lyft will be available. Drink responsibly.

    In lieu of our January 5:31 Club, please join us as we “Devour Indy” on January 22, 2020 at Tony’s of Indianapolis!

    WHAT: Tony’s of Indianapolis, “Best restaurant downtown today…best food, best service, best atmosphere. An absolutely first class dining experience; you will be impressed!”

    WHO: Rotarians, friends, guests, and anyone wanting to learn more about Rotary.

    WHAT: Union Jack, Speedway, is known for their starters, burgers, specialty pizzas, and of course their beer and wine!

    WHEN: Wednesday, December 4th, from 5:31 pm till 7:00 or 7:30 pm, or anytime in between.

    WHERE: 6225 W 25th St, Speedway, IN

    WHY: Fellowship, fun, and frivolity during our monthly social get-together.

    ETC: Good parking!

    NOTE: There will be a group of us heading over to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to drive around the track for “Lights at the Brickyard”. Only $25.00 per car load, so everyone is welcome to carpool over, then return to the Union Jack!

  • November 5:31 Club: Asian Harbor 8

    Join Rotary friends and guests at Asian Harbor 8  for fun, frivolity, conversation, beverages and food. Check out their website

    Their slogan is “come hungry, leave happy”. They will have a variety of beers available, but no wine or cocktails.

    • November 6th, from 5:31 pm till 7:30 pm, or whenever you can be there.
    • Asian Harbor 8 is located at 878 US-31, Greenwood, IN 46142 (across from Greenwood Park Mall on the West side of US-31)
    • No agenda, just the regular, monthly social get-together.
    • Free parking.
    • We will be joined by members from the Southport International Rotary Club along with members of the Chin Community
    • The Chin Community Center is the current recipient of the Indianapolis Rotary Foundation Legacy Grant.

  • July 5:31 Club: The North End BBQ and Moonshine

    WHO: Rotarians, friends, guests, and anyone wanting to learn more about Rotary.

    WHAT: The North End Barbecue and Moonshine features American regional barbecue that aims to honor the great technique and tradition of our favorite food. We support farms that raise their beef, pork, chicken and turkey naturally without the use of anti-biotics, hormones or GMO Feed.

    The North End features local beers, an extensive bourbon list, craft cocktails and a hand selected wine list. An emphasis is placed on genuine hospitality and professional service that anticipates our guests needs.

    WHAT: LouVino is known for white and red wine flights, over 60 wines by the glass, bourbon, craft beer, cocktails, and adventurous Southern-inspired small plates.

    WHEN: Wednesday, June 5th, from 5:31 pm till 7:00 or 7:30 pm, or anytime in between.

    WHERE: 530 Massachusetts Avenue, Suite 140, Indianapolis, IN 46204.

    May 5:31 Club: Go-Karts & Gathering

    Join Rotary friends for two 5:31 Club events on May 1. 2019:

    1. Race high-performance go-karts at Speedway Indoor Karting starting at 5:31 pm. (1067 Main Street, Speedway)
    2. 1911 Grill, right next door.

    If you want to race go-karts, great! You’ll receive training and then race against the clock on the indoor track.

    Regular “license” and participation fees apply.

    Race first (or skip that part) and then enjoy food and beverages at 1911 Grill.
