  • May 21: Kristopher George

    May 21: Kristopher George

Join us Tuesday to hear from Kristopher George with Exodus Refugee Immigration. Exodus has a long history of welcoming refugees and asylees from many countries, cultures, languages, faiths, and political opinions. Kristopher will speak about the refugee resettlement in Indianapolis as well as their history of being the largest refugee resettlement agency in the state.

Graduating from university in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in History, Kris knew he wanted to work in the nonprofit field after volunteering in a Greek refugee camp right before Covid was widespread in the United States. It then only made sense for him to apply for a Housing Associate position at Exodus Refugee Immigration. This position gave him unique experiences through his interactions with refugees by setting up their housing accommodations and providing refugees a home in safety and freedom. Now, as the Community Support Team Coordinator, he speaks to community and faith-based organizations, service groups, and anyone interested in learning more about refugees. He primarily recruits and trains volunteers to form Community Support Teams, who work alongside Exodus in welcoming a refugee family and supporting them on their way to self-sufficiency. A Hoosier born and raised, he has been with Exodus since September of 2021.
