    The Rotary Club of Indianapolis is excited about our second year for our upcoming Celebration Dinner on Tuesday, June 26.  Click HERE to purchase tickets to the dinner.

    June 11: Annual Rotary vs Kiwanis Softball Game

    Once again, The Indianapolis Indians will host the Annual Rotary vs Kiwanis Softball Game. Help us bring home the Babe!

    This year, the game will be on Monday, June 11. Game time is at 5:05 p.m., with an Indians game beginning at 7:05 p.m. Each ticket is $15.00 and children 2 and under are free. $2 of every ticket will go to our own Indianapolis Rotary Foundation. Register and pay here!

    Please purchase tickets no later than Sunday, June 3. Physical tickets will be distributed at the Rotary program on Tuesday, June 5. If you are unable to pick-up your tickets at the June 5 Rotary program, they will be provided at the Indianapolis Indians Will Call office on June 11.

    The Rotary Club of Indianapolis is delighted to present the 2018 Celebration Dinner and Fundraiser.  This annual event is an opportunity shine the light on a year that has been exciting, engaging and continuously evolving. The evening is a wonderful night to celebrate our annual accomplishments, honor and recognize key leadership and achievers and also recommit to our Club and the work we do in the community.  Being held for the first time at the Indiana History Center, the night will feature an impressive silent auction as well as a three course dinner from MBP Catering, complimentary wine and a cocktail from Hotel Tango and an optional after-party on the Canal (weather permitting) that will feature the musical talents of our own Chris Gonzalez.     Nominations Open for Rotary Outstanding Achievement Recognition Award

    The Rotary Club of Indianapolis is proud to announce that nominations for the Rotary Outstanding Achievement Recognition (ROAR) Award is open (formerly called Rotarian of the Year.)  Nominations for Rotarians in good standing who have demonstrated “Service Above Self” during his or her lifetime are being accepted. This award recognizes a life devoted to reflecting the Four Way Test, not just within the Club, but in their career and community life as well. This is considered a lifetime achievement award.

    Award Information:

    1. The ROAR Award Selection Committee for 2018 is chaired by Elaine Bedel.
    2. Completed nominations should be submitted no later than May 4, 2018, to Kelly Tingle in person at a Tuesday lunch or via email to ktingle@indyrotary.org.
    3. Public announcement of the ROAR Award will occur on May 15 and the award will be presented at the 2018 Celebration Dinner scheduled for the evening of June 26.

    The Rotary Club of Indianapolis will be going offsite for our luncheon program to one of the city’s hottest spring locations on Tuesday, April 24. Join us!

  • March 27: Rick Fuson, President & COO, Pacers Sports and Entertainment

    Bankers Life Fieldhouse is the home of our own Indiana Pacers. But behind the scenes, the Fieldhouse is an incredible asset that can shift from a basketball court one week to a magical Disney ice rink the next and then play host to a monster truck rally the next, only to showcase complicated stages for the biggest names in music. What does it take to manage all of this? Learn more about the behinds the scenes operations from Pacers Sports and Entertainment President/COO Rick Fuson on Tuesday, March 27.

    A graduate of Indiana University and a life-long resident of Indianapolis, he joined the staff of Market Square Arena in 1984 as director of special events and was promoted the following year to vice president. Fuson helped oversee the Pacers’ move to Bankers Life Fieldhouse in September 2000 and in September 2014 he became President/COO.

    Through the years, Fuson has been active in pursuing major events for the Fieldhouse and the City of Indianapolis. From his time as Co-Chair of the 2012 Super Bowl Village Committee to his recent effort to bring the 2021 NBA All Star Game to Indianapolis, he is dedicated to building sport in Indianapolis.  He is also on the Board of Directors for Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), Indianapolis Urban League, Indy Public Safety Foundation, Indy Chamber and Visit Indy. He is an Advisor to the Indiana Sports Corporation Board of Directors and currently serves as Chair of the Pacers Foundation.

    We welcome our very own member and Past President Elaine Bedel as speaker at the Tuesday, March 20 meeting. The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) was established in 2005 in order to respond quickly to the needs of businesses. The public-private organization is led by Indiana Secretary of Commerce Jim Schellinger and IEDC President Elaine Bedel and governed by a 15-member board of directors – chaired by Governor Eric J. Holcomb. In her presentation, Elaine will discuss the IEDC’s economic development activities, including performance-based tax credits, workforce training grants, innovation and entrepreneurship resources, and talent attraction and retention efforts.     Prior to serving the state in her current role, Elaine served as president, chief executive officer and chief compliance officer of Bedel Financial Consulting Inc., a role held since she founded the company in 1989. Throughout her career, Bedel has been recognized for dedication to her profession and her community. A graduate of Hanover College who earned an MBA from Butler University, she was inducted into the Indiana Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2016 and was recognized as the 2015 Women Business Owner of the year by the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). Bedel was also the recipient of the ROAR Award (Rotary Outstanding Achievement Recognition) in 2017. We can’t wait to hear from her at the podium again.

    The Rotary Club of Indianapolis prides itself on bringing incredible speakers to our Tuesday programs. Each week, for just $25, you walk away enriched and energized!  We meet every Tuesday at Ivy Tech Culinary Conference Center at 2820 N. Meridian Street.  Our lunch buffet opens at 11:45 and always ends by 1:15. Tables of eight for just $200 can be reserved by emailing Jamie Stahl.
