January 11: Hye Jin Kalgaonkar

By on January 6, 2022
Join us Tuesday to hear from Hye Jin Kalgaonkar the CEO and founder of The Hot Room. The Hot Room has five studio locations in the greater Indianapolis, Bloomington, and Chicago areas.

While living overseas, Hye Jin pursued her first yoga and pilates teaching certifications and had the opportunity to teach all over the world. When it came time to return to the US, she made the decision to leave her corporate career with Eli Lilly and open the first Hot Room studio in Indianapolis.

Launched in 2013, The Hot Room introduced a positive, welcoming approach to sharing hot yoga.  After traveling and taking classes at hundreds of studios around the world, Hye Jin knew that there had to be a better way to make hot yoga accessible to anyone no matter their ability level and with the beginner in mind.

In the past 8 years, Hye Jin and her team have grown her small business to a multi location company with 100 employees, launched a digital platform making classes accessible to anyone in the world and is recognized as a leader in the world of hot yoga. She has cultivated a diverse community who is passionate about the healing and transformative benefits of a hot room practice. The company is also making an impact nationally with the creation of the Hot Room Leadership Institute, Global Wellness Retreats and their new non-profit, The Breathe Foundation.

All are welcome at Rotary programs. If attending in-person at Ivy Tech Culinary and Conference Center reservations and prepayment are appreciated, but not required.
