February 5: Community Service Opportunity
Nearly 20% of Marion County residents live in a food desert. Join the Environment & Beautification Committee as we help The Indianapolis Public Library improve access to healthy produce for local residents. We will be preparing the Library’s Seed Libraries for the upcoming season. The Seed Libraries will be available at 17 Marion County branches in March and patrons can “check out” (free) seed packets to start their own garden.
Date: Saturday, February 5 from 9 a.m. – noon
Location: Central Library (parking is free)
Who: Rotarians, friends and family. Ages 10+
What: Convert bags of seeds purchased in bulk into smaller packets with seed identity and barcode labels.
Email Rotarian Marie Koenig at koenigmarie55@gmail.com if you plan to attend. Marie will share additional details about the event and provide a waiver from The Indianapolis Public Library.
